Fantasy Filmfest 2026
One programme, seven cities: horror, thriller, science fiction and cult, about a week in each and mostly in the original language with subtitles. Fantasy Filmfest tours Germany from 2 to 26 September 2026.
The tour
Seven stops, about a week each. We carry every venue, so each stop links straight to the cinema and its programme.
What it is
Fantasy Filmfest has run since 1987 and is Germany's big festival for genre cinema. Around horror, thriller, science fiction and fantasy it shows mostly premieres, many of them weeks or months before a regular release, and some that never get one.

The programme
Around fifty international productions in a week, split into recurring strands.
Since 2006 the audience has given the Fresh Blood Award to the best first or second feature by a director. District 9 won it in 2009.
In the original language
Almost everything runs in the original with subtitles, often marked OmU or OmeU. For genre fans that is the draw: seeing the films as they were made, long before any dub.
Tickets and how it works
Each city runs for about a week. There are festival passes and single tickets, both through the festival's own site and the cinemas on the day.
