Steindamm 54, 20099 Hamburg
The SAVOY Filmtheater on Steindamm opened in 1957 and is one of Hamburg's last great single-screen picture palaces. It stands in the St. Georg district near Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. The generous auditorium has high ceilings and one of the largest screens in the city. Under the Premiumkino umbrella, the historic room now comes with upgraded comfort and service.
Opened in 1957 as a Todd-AO house and sold at the time as the most modern cinema in Europe; a 70 mm projector came back in 2015, two years after it reopened. One of the few cinemas in Germany still projecting 70 mm. The programme is built on English-language originals.
