Kinofest 2026
For one weekend, a ticket to any film at a participating cinema in Germany costs 5 euros. Kinofest returns for the fifth time on 12 and 13 September 2026, the cinemas' own celebration of going to the movies.
The deal
Five euros gets you into any film, in any seat, at any showtime, across every genre. It holds for the premium seats too, and for IMAX and V-MAX. The one weekend a year where the biggest screen in town costs the same as the smallest.
How it works
Kinofest is not in one place: it runs at participating cinemas all over Germany, so you go to whichever is near you. Advance sales open on Monday 7 September, and tickets are bought at the cinema or through its usual booking system. The official site has a cinema finder for the taking-part houses.

495 cinemas across Germany take part. 304 of them are on KinoNow, so you can see straight away what each plays that weekend and whether a film runs in the original language or dubbed. Search your town to find the nearest.

Who runs it
Kinofest is a project of the German cinema industry, the associations HDF, AllScreens, AG Kino and AG Verleih, together with Cineamo. Its aim is simple: get people back into the cinema with a price that makes the trip easy. This is the fifth edition.
