UFA-Palast Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf's first multiplex, opened in November 1997 on the site of the old parcel post depot beside the Hauptbahnhof. A glazed front on Worringer Straße, a gallery and an open staircase, and behind them twelve screens with about 2,850 seats. When the UFA chain went insolvent in 2002, this house kept the name under new ownership. It is run today by FSF GmbH & Co. KG and works as two cinemas under one roof, Hollywood on the upper level, arthouse and family films below. The largest hall seats 579 and has a 19-metre screen with Dolby Atmos. Unlike the city's other big houses it runs a standing original-version programme: roughly one upcoming screening in five here is not dubbed, English-language releases alongside Tamil and Malayalam titles.
