Where it sits in the Multiverse Saga

Doomsday is the second-to-last film of the Multiverse Saga and leads directly into Avengers: Secret Wars, dated 17 December 2027 in the US. It was once announced for May 2026 under the title Avengers: The Kang Dynasty; Marvel moved the date and pivoted the story to Doctor Doom after recasting the saga's villain.

Premium formats

Disney has created its own premium large-format certification, Infinity Vision, for the biggest screens with laser projection and premium sound. It exists because IMAX committed its December screens to Dune: Part Three, which opens the same day in the US. Which German cinemas are certified, and where IMAX, Dolby Cinema or 3D are available, is announced closer to release.

Behind the film

The Russo brothers direct, from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely with Michael Waldron. Principal photography ran from 28 April to 19 September 2025 at Pinewood and Shinfield Studios in England, with location work at Windsor Great Park and in Bahrain.

A run-up: Endgame Encore

From 25 September 2026 Avengers: Endgame returns to cinemas as Endgame Encore, four minutes longer with a new intro and end tag, carrying an exclusive Doomsday sneak peek on IMAX and Infinity Vision screens. A sensible way to catch up before December.
