LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn

This is a museum auditorium rather than a cinema of its own. The LVR-LandesMuseum on Colmantstraße, a few minutes from Bonn's main station, is the Rhineland's archaeological and art-historical museum: its predecessor institution was founded in 1820, it holds the Neanderthal 1 skeleton, and the present building went up in 1967 after the 1893 house was destroyed in the war. Its hall is programmed by the Bonner Kinemathek, the association that also runs the Kino in der Brotfabrik, on a few evenings a week rather than daily, so only a handful of dates are ever listed at once. The films are arthouse: new releases, documentaries, themed series, shown in the original with German subtitles, which is what our own listings show as well. Tickets and the current programme come from the Kinemathek, not from the museum.
