The Lichtmeß Kino is at Gaußstraße 25 in Hamburg-Altona, five minutes on foot from Altona station. It is run by Lichtmeß e.V., an association for the promotion of video and film art. The programme shows rare documentary and experimental films, often in the original version with subtitles, along with short film evenings, school screenings and Hamburg premieres. Projection is on 35mm and 16mm as well as digital (Christie 2210, Doremi DCP-2K4), and silent films run with live music. Admission is 4 to 5 euros, or 8 to 10 euros for a silent film with live music. Payment is cash only.
