Leutewitzer Ring 5, 01169 Dresden
The JKS Passage is the Jugendkunstschule Dresden's location in the Gorbitz district, at Leutewitzer Ring 5 next to Amalie-Dietrich-Platz (trams 2 and 7). The house has a long tradition as a venue and marked its fortieth anniversary in 2026. It is being developed into a cultural and neighbourhood centre for the district, with a hall with a stage and a foyer where the neighbourhood café takes place. Cinema days are Monday and Tuesday: Mondays at 20:00, occasionally also at 16:30, Tuesdays at 10:00 and 20:00, plus shows for children in the school holidays, mostly in the morning, in autumn as part of the Kinolino film festival. The programme is mostly European comedies, dramas and documentaries under their German release titles, usually with three or four showings per film. Films play in the German version unless the house says otherwise in the programme text; showings in the original with German subtitles are rare and are named there. Tickets are 6.00 euros, 5.00 reduced, and the holiday shows are partly free. There is no online sale; seats are reserved through a form, by phone or by mail. Doors open 30 minutes before the start. There is no cinema from mid-June to the end of August or from mid-December to mid-January.
