cinema Boppard

The cinema Boppard plays in the basement of the Stadthalle at Oberstraße 141. It was founded in 1990 by the VHS Boppard and the Jugendbegegnungsstätte, then in the basement of the Gemeindezentrum St. Michael. It moved into the Stadthalle in 2005 and has run a continuous programme since 2008. Since 1 March 2024 the non-profit cinema Boppard e.V. has run it, mostly with volunteers. Shows usually run Friday to Tuesday, and every ticket costs 7 euros, with no reductions. In the Rollenwechsel series, held with the Catholic Church, the cinema shows selected films on Mondays at 8 pm with an introduction and a discussion afterwards. Autumn brings KinoVino, two feature films with wines from the Middle Rhine, and summer an open-air cinema at the Jugendbegegnungsstätte.
