Zentralkino

Two screens in the Kraftwerk Mitte, the former power station south-west of the old town that now holds the operetta house and the state theatre's young stage. Zentral 1 seats ninety-seven and Zentral 2 thirty-eight, which makes this the smallest of the city's arthouse houses and the one most willing to programme a single screening of something. Its schedule leans on invited series — a Czech film Wednesday, Ukrainian cinema presented with a local initiative, Indian cinema in Tamil with English subtitles — so a fair share of the programme runs in the original language, marked as such by the house. The rest is current arthouse in the German version.
