Kollwitzstraße 1, 73728 Esslingen
The Traumpalast Esslingen holds one of only four Dolby Cinemas in Germany, an auditorium with Dolby Vision projection, whose blacks run far deeper than a normal hall's, paired with Dolby Atmos. The other screens are named after film history, from Buster and Charlie through Metropolis to Illusion and Backstage. The programme is the full Traumpalast range: current blockbusters, original-version screenings, concert and event presentations. Many shows run in Dolby Atmos and some offer D-BOX motion seats. The cinema sits on Kollwitzstraße, a few minutes' walk from Esslingen station.

The largest room in the house, 238 seats to a 15.1-metre screen. Dual 4K laser projection at a contrast ratio above 1,000,000:1, with Dolby Atmos.

The second-largest room, with lit wall panels and 32 Lounge seats you can put your feet up on.

Instead of a screen there is an LED wall, which emits its own light rather than reflecting a projector's. The rake is unusually steep, the back three rows are Lounge rows, and there are recliners and extra ceiling speakers.

Futuristic in design, with lit wall panels.

Picks up the character of the old industrial site: lit pictures of the grounds on the walls, warm orange tones.

Plain elegance, with softly lit wall panelling.

Plain design and modern fit-out — the wizard it is named after still found a place on the wall.

A small 40-seat room, with Buster Keaton on the wall.

The smallest room in the house at 38 seats, named after Chaplin.
