Straße der Jugend 16, 03046 Cottbus
The Obenkino belongs to the Glad-House youth culture centre on Straße der Jugend in Cottbus and was founded in September 1990. It shows documentaries and feature films from around the world, above all European films and films that take up current social issues. Foreign-language films run once in each programme week in the original with German subtitles. There are also children's and youth films, often tied to school lessons, and series such as Film&Gespräch and Film&Buch. The cinema is a member of the Bundesverband für kommunale Filmarbeit.
