The Filmhaus Kino is the single screen of the Kölner Filmhaus, one hall with 99 seats. The Filmhaus has occupied the listed former administration building of the goods station at the Mediapark since 1998, a few minutes from the Hansaring. It was founded in 1981 as a centre for film education and filmmaking. The original association went insolvent in 2012 and the house relaunched under new management in October 2021. Its cinema is programmed month by month and deliberately non-commercial: current arthouse releases beside curated strands such as Short Monday and Film auf Film, sneak previews, and festival weeks including the Cologne short film festival and the Women's Film Festival. Almost everything we currently list here runs in the original version with subtitles.
