Eighty-eight seats in eight rows, air-conditioned, behind the façade of Bernhard Hoetger's Haus des Glockenspiels in the Böttcherstraße; films have run here since 1930. British incendiary bombs gutted the first and second floors in October 1944 and destroyed most of the Lebensbaum wood carving, which was not restored after the war — Hoetger's depiction of an aryan Christ had become impossible to put back. The rooms behind the façade were rebuilt as a theatre and this cinema, with the street-facing windows bricked up to get the darkness. DCI digital projection since 2011. The programme is chiefly European film specialities, and the annual programme has repeatedly been honoured by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. A lounge with its own drinks list belongs to the house. Smallest of the operator's four Bremen cinemas; tram 6 or bus 24 and 25 to Domsheide.
