Filmtheater Universum

The Filmtheater Universum at Große Straße 38 in Bramsche was built in 1953 and has been a listed building since the early 1990s. The Universum e.V. has run it since 1988, when the association took it over from private hands. The single auditorium seats up to 230 and has a large stage, and it projects digitally with RealD 3D and Dolby Surround 7.1 sound. The house was renovated in 2018 with funding from the state of Lower Saxony and nordmedia. The film programme is family-friendly with a leaning towards arthouse cinema. The stage also carries concerts, theatre, cabaret, lectures and readings.
