The STUDIO Filmtheater is Kiel's oldest cinema, opened on 23 December 1914 and still running today. It stands on Wilhelminenstraße at the Dreiecksplatz and has three auditoriums seating 58, 147 and 250, all with Dolby 7.1 sound. The programme mixes current releases with repertory series such as Best of Cinema, Lichtperlen and a monthly short-film day, plus a Wednesday sneak preview. Some screenings run in the original version with German subtitles. Regular admission is 10 euros, dropping to 7 on the Tuesday Kinotag.
