The Rex Filmpalast in Pforzheim has been open since 1953 and is run by the Geiger family, now across three generations. It has five screens and a premium lounge concept. Pforzheim is known as the gold city for its centuries-old jewellery and watchmaking industries, and it sits at the northern gateway to the Black Forest, where the Nagold, Enz and Wuerm rivers converge. A single Allied air raid in February 1945 destroyed almost all of it.
