The Neue Schauburg is a single-screen cinema in Burgdorf with 220 seats. The building was once a farm, and hay was stored in what is now the auditorium. The first film ran here for a paying audience in 1931. The Lindemann family has run the house since 1998, since 2016 in its third generation under Christian Lindemann. The auditorium is step-free and at ground level, projects in digital and 3D, and has Dolby Digital 7.1 sound. Once a month the Filmcafé shows a film with coffee and cake. The cinema has won nordmedia's annual film-programme prize every year since 1997.
