Untere Königstraße 34, 96052 Bamberg
The Lichtspiel is a single-screen arthouse cinema at Untere Königstraße 34 in Bamberg. It opened in 1954 as the Rex-Lichtspiele. Gerrit Zachrich took the house over in 1995 and has run it with Diana Linz since 2000. In that year the pair also opened the Odeon in Bamberg. The programme is arthouse and repertory, mostly in the German dubbed version, with some films shown as OmU or in the original. Bars adjoin the auditorium and host events every month.
