The Kronen-Lichtspiele in Bad Pyrmont show an arthouse programme on one 195-seat screen, changing it several times a week and running up to seven films in some weeks. The house projects 35mm and digital. Gustav Stümke opened it on 1 January 1931 in the converted hall of his Zur Krone inn, and the cinema architect Alfred Goetsch rebuilt it in 1951. Juries of the state of Lower Saxony and of the Federal Republic have given the programme an annual award since 2003. It is an NDR Kultur partner cinema and stands at Altenaustraße 1.
