Bernhard-Göring-Straße 152, 04277 Leipzig
The Kinobar Prager Frühling opened in 1997 inside the Haus der Demokratie at Bernhard-Göring-Straße 152, a few minutes from the Connewitzer Kreuz. That building has housed civic-movement organisations since 1990 — the Umweltbibliothek Leipzig and the Archiv Bürgerbewegung Leipzig are still among its tenants — and the dance café Ilses Erika sits below the cinema. The Kinobar is essentially one room: 74 seats, a single box office, and a small bar standing inside the auditorium rather than out in a foyer. A member of the Europa Cinemas network, it programmes current arthouse and independent releases alongside documentaries, short films and children's matinees, mostly in German, with occasional subtitled original versions and themed weeks such as the Queere Filmwoche and the Leipziger Umwelttage. In summer the same team runs the open-air Sommerkino on the Feinkost site.
