The Kino in der Brotfabrik occupies one wing of a former bread factory on Prenzlauer Promenade in Weissensee, now an arts centre that also houses theatre, gallery exhibitions and literary events. The cinema shows independent, documentary and short films, often connected to what is happening elsewhere in the building. Weissensee sits at the northeastern edge of Berlin's inner city.
