Klaus-Müller-Kilian-Weg 2, 30167 Hannover
The Kino im Sprengel is a communal cinema in Hannover's Nordstadt district, on the Sprengel site at Klaus-Müller-Kilian-Weg 2. Its beginnings reach back to 1988, and today the film und video cooperative e.V. runs the house. The auditorium shows 35mm and DCP prints and is reachable step-free by a ramp. An induction loop carries the sound to hearing aids. The programme covers arthouse, documentary, experimental and short films, along with retrospectives, film series and festivals such as the Nordstadt-Filmtage. In 2024 the cinema received the Kinoprogrammpreis des Kinematheksverbundes. Foreign-language films run partly in the original version with subtitles and partly dubbed into German.
