Wilhelmstr. 21, 58332 Schwelm
Schwelm had seven cinemas between 1909 and today, and the Lichtburg on the Wilhelmstraße is the one that survived; it runs now as the Kino-Center. Its largest hall still carries the old name and 196 seats, with the Studio at 163 and the Galaxy at 100 beside it. The programme is first-run and mainstream: blockbusters, animation, family titles, weekend afternoon shows for children. Every upcoming screening in our listings is a German-dubbed version, so this is the local cinema for a town between Wuppertal and Hagen rather than a specialist house. It is operated by FTB Lumberg Boos, which also runs the Corso cinemas in Menden and Radevormwald.
