The Gröbenlichtspiele is a family-run cinema in Gröbenzell, west of Munich, open for more than 60 years. Its climate-controlled, stepped auditorium seats 137 plus two wheelchair spaces, with sofas in the back row, recliners in the front row and a 60 m² silver screen. The Filmfernsehfonds Bayern awarded its programme for 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and 2011/2012. Alongside current releases the cinema shows live relays, among them performances from the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Exhibition on Screen series.
