The Filmforum NRW is housed in the Museum Ludwig at Bischofsgartenstraße 1, on the Domplatte in Cologne. Its auditorium seats 257. Since 2006 it has been a venue for film festivals, premieres and themed film series, along with conferences, talks and post-screening discussions. It is run by a consortium of film institutions, among them the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the broadcaster WDR, the ifs internationale filmschule köln and the Museum Ludwig.
