The Engel-Lichtspiele in Breisach am Rhein is run by the nonprofit association Kommunales Kino Breisach e.V., which has carried the cinema since its reopening in September 2014 and counts more than 400 members. The programme covers the current releases alongside the series Der Besondere Film and Kinderkino. In August 2026 the members decided to buy the cinema building after twelve years as tenants.
