The Eifel-Film-Bühne on Aachenerstraße in Hillesheim is a family cinema. Hans Runge screened the first film in January 1943, and the family built the present cinema from 1948. Since 2025 Hanna and Katharina Runge run the house in the third generation. At the end of 1991 the cinema shifted its programme to a mix of current releases and smaller films that otherwise play only in selected city cinemas. It has been honoured for that programme by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1994 and by the federal government since 1997. Projection has been digital since 2011 and uses a laser projector since 2022. An old 35mm projector, an Ernemann IV, stands in the foyer after the 2021 renovation, alongside the Film-Bar with its counter. Most films play in the German version, and originals with German subtitles are marked OmU.
