Töpferstr. 17-19, 53343 Wachtberg-Adendorf
Drehwerk 17|19 is a 45-seat cinema in the buildings of the Söndgen pottery in Adendorf, the potters' village in Wachtberg south of Bonn. Ille and Rudi Knorr bought the disused works in December 2003 and spent years converting the roof space and inner courtyard. It opened in October 2007 as a cultural venue with three parts: a small stage, a bistro-restaurant with a summer terrace, and the cinema. The operators reckon those 45 seats make it the smallest public cinema in North Rhine-Westphalia. The hall is air-conditioned and runs analogue as well as digital projection. The programme is arthouse with room for documentaries and the better mainstream titles, Wednesday to Sunday. It has collected the state's programme awards most years since the Filmstiftung NRW innovation prize in 2008.
