Das Andere Kino in Lehrte has been run since 1974 by an association for open youth work, and since 1984 it has occupied the former Lehrter Lichtspiele on Sedanplatz. The single hall seats 84, with a flat floor and an extendable stage that also hosts events beyond film. Projection has been 4K since 2014, and the sound is Dolby Digital 7.1. Volunteers run the cinema and its café entirely. Every film costs 6 euros, and children's screenings 4 euros. Most screenings are in German, with some titles also shown in the original with subtitles. It is the only cinema in Lehrte.
