The Comet Cine Center opened on Viersener Straße on 25 August 1998, under the name Village Cine Center. In 2000 the Comet-Filmtheaterbetrieb Mönchengladbach, which had built the multiplex, took it over. Seven halls are numbered Kino 1 to Kino 7. The largest holds 340 seats and the smallest 122. The operator puts the house total at 1,450. Projection is 4K digital from RGB laser projectors, with 3D, HFR 3D and Dolby 7.1 sound. Alongside the wide releases the house runs a Sneak and an Anime Night, and it programmes the VHS Filmauslese, a Monday arthouse series chosen together with Mönchengladbach's Volkshochschule. The entrance from the street is step-free. There is no lift or ramp, and some halls are reached only by stairs.
