The CineStar Leipzig sits in the Petersbogen arcade on Petersstraße, at the southern end of the pedestrianised shopping streets. Screen 8 has been an IMAX auditorium since August 2025. Around it, Gründerzeit buildings stand alongside newer retail. Leipzig is the city of Bach and Mendelssohn, of the Gewandhaus and the Thomaskirche, and the city where the Peaceful Revolution began in 1989.
