The Cineplex in Waldkraiburg stands on Daimlerstraße, in a Bavarian town southeast of Munich that was built almost entirely from scratch after 1945 to house ethnic German refugees expelled from the Sudetenland. That planned origin gave it a grid layout unusual for a Bavarian settlement, and its cultural institutions were established deliberately to build community among displaced populations. The town lies in the Inn valley.
