Germering is a residential town directly west of Munich that has grown from a Bavarian village into a suburb of eighty thousand inhabitants within a single generation. The Cineplex on Münchener Straße gives its commuter population an evening out without the drive into central Munich. A few older farmsteads still stand between the modern apartment blocks.
