The Cinemagic brings film to Eschwege, a half-timbered town on the Werra in the northeastern corner of Hesse that spent decades in the shadow of the inner German border. The name is a playful compression of cinema and magic. The surrounding Werra-Meissner district is forested hills, river meadows and villages whose timber frames predate the Thirty Years War.
