Capitol Siegburg

Augustastraße 20, 53721 Siegburg

The Capitol Kinocenter stands on Augustastraße in the middle of Siegburg. Its main auditorium was a dance hall before it became a cinema in 1950: 340 seats, still the largest room and the house's namesake. Two smaller screens were added as the business grew, the 100-seat Filmstudio in 1972 and the 109-seat Movie in 1979, which is how a single hall turned into a three-screen centre without moving an inch. The programme follows the old cinema week from Thursday to Wednesday and is straightforward first-run: current releases, family films, sneak previews and occasional event screenings. Everything we list here plays in German, so this is a mainstream town cinema rather than an arthouse. For original versions, Cologne and Bonn are a short train ride away.
