Theaterplatz 1, 23909 Ratzeburg
The Burgtheater stands on the Theaterplatz in Ratzeburg. Films have been shown there since 1924. The present house opened on 10 November 1950 in a classicist building that Cäsar F. Pinnau designed above the old brewery of the former Schauburg. The programme runs in the Blauer, Grüner and Roter Saal, from current releases to the Filmclub. A separate strand, Kino auf Ukrainisch, shows films in Ukrainian. The Burgtheater Kulturgesellschaft has run the house since 2004.
