The Burg Theater in Burg, Saxony-Anhalt, is a purpose-built cinema with a single auditorium. It opened on 3 June 1911 as the Palast-Theater and has run without interruption since, and is regarded as the oldest continuously operating purpose-built cinema in Germany. The auditorium seats 153 and the screen measures 45 square metres. A bar built into the rear of the auditorium in the 1980s lets guests watch the film from cinema armchairs and be served during the screening. The WEITBLICK association has run the house since 2010.
