Babylon Kino am Stadtpark

The only arthouse cinema in Fürth — a city in its own right next to Nürnberg — three minutes' walk from Fürth's station, with the Stadtpark beginning directly behind the building. Two screens in an Altbau, owner-operated rather than part of a chain: a Kellerbühne seating up to a hundred, with its own cellar bar and a DJ and live rig, and the ground-floor Diele for around forty, which was the house's original Saal 1. Subtitled originals have a fixed place in the week rather than turning up at random: the printed programme carries a standing OmU-Montag. Seven series run alongside the current releases, among them Cinéma Mon Amour, Senioren-Montagskino, Sunday matinées, Shorts Attack, Exhibition on Screen and Agenda 2030. The cinema keeps its own beer garden in three parts, with Franconian draught beers and home-made soups and cakes. Member of the Gilde and Europa Cinemas.
