Theaterstraße 1, 86650 Wemding
Wilhelm and Josefa Meyer opened the Lichtspiele in Wemding on 26 March 1949, with about 360 seats at the time. Today the Meyer family runs it as one of the last hotel cinemas, with one air-conditioned hall and 54 seats. Since 2019 it has had Dolby Digital 7.1 and an active 3D system from XpanD, and new seats and online ticketing followed in 2021. The screen measures 16 square metres, and a velvet curtain opens before every show. The Candle-Light-Dinner pairs a three-course meal at the Hotel Meerfräulein with the 8 pm show, for 45 euros per person. The hall has step-free access.
