Trierer Straße 55, 66839 Schmelz
The Schmelzer Lichtspiele on Trierer Straße were built in 1919 by Johann Müller and Barbara Müller (née Brill) and opened at Christmas that year. The cinema is still in the family and is run by Margit Müller and Hans Gerhard Müller. It plays in two halls: the Maxi has 200 seats and a balcony, and the Mini, added in 1983, has 71. The names Maxi and Mini come from a family cinema in Warstein that no longer exists. Once a month there is a Seniorenkino, organised with the senior citizens' council of the municipality of Schmelz. A platform lift at the entrance leads into the cinema, and both halls have two wheelchair spaces each.
