Philipp Ebert opened the Rex-Palast in Dreieich-Sprendlingen on Easter Saturday 1952, a few hundred metres from the Viktoria-Theater he had opened with his wife Katharina in 1920. The Rex then had 375 seats; today it has 165 in the stalls and 86 in the balcony. Since 2012 it has projected digitally and in 3D. Both cinemas are owned by Ebert's granddaughter Brigitte Kreisel, and her son Stephan is the fourth generation in the business. A regular stalls ticket costs 12 euros, a balcony seat 13 euros.
