Fürstenbergstraße 9, 78315 Radolfzell am Bodensee
The Universum at Fürstenbergstraße 9 is a nostalgia cinema run by the Universum-Nostalgiekino e.V. A first Universum with more than 1,000 seats opened in 1952 in the former market halls. The present house followed in 1957 with 450 seats and was one of the first in Radolfzell able to show CinemaScope. It closed in 1988. The club obtained the building from the town, and its members rebuilt the cinema. The hall now has 185 seats and an 8 x 3 metre CinemaScope screen. Besides a Sony 4K laser projector there are two Bauer B11 projectors with arc lamps for 35mm prints and a Bauer P8 for 16mm, plus an electromechanical cinema gong. Admission is 6 euros on every seat with free seating, 7 euros for films of 130 minutes or more.
