The Neue Welt Kinocenter on Fichtestraße in Weiden has three screens. The largest, the Neue Welt, seats 189 across the Loge, the Parkett and a VIP section with seats that let you put your feet up, plus ProSonic seats with felt low bass in row 5. The Anker seats 100 in a very wide, steeply raked hall and also shows 3D. The Bambi studio seats 84 and was fully renovated in 2014. All three halls have Dolby Surround 7.1. Monday and Tuesday are discount days (Kinotage). About every second week a film runs in English on a Monday or Tuesday. Most Wednesdays bring the Weidener Filmgespräche, which the cinema organises with KEB Neustadt-Weiden and the Evangelisches Bildungswerk Weiden: a short introduction at 7 pm, then a discussion in the foyer after the film. Live relays from the Metropolitan Opera in New York run with German subtitles. The house is operated by Neue Welt Kinocenter Platzer GmbH.
