Murnaustraße 6, 65189 Wiesbaden
The Murnau-Filmtheater is the cinema inside the Deutsches Filmhaus, where the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung has had its offices since April 2009. The foundation was set up in 1966 and looks after a large part of the German film heritage, from the beginnings of moving pictures to the early 1960s. Older German cinema turns up on the programme accordingly, Helmut Käutner's Große Freiheit Nr. 7 of 1944 for instance. New films play dubbed on one day and in the original with subtitles on the next. There are no adverts, and the screening starts with the feature. Tickets are 9 euros, 8 reduced, 7 with the Wiesbadener Filmkunstkarte.
