Movie Star Parchim

The Movie Star in Parchim is in the Regimentsvorstadt, inside a listed 19th-century riding hall that Graf von Putlitz built for his dragoons' horses. In GDR times Soviet troops used it as a workshop and garage for armoured vehicles. The conversion kept the shell of the building, and the cinema was finished in October 2000. The foyer is about 12 metres high, with a wooden ceiling true to the original and a gallery above the bar. The three screens seat 467 in total, Kino 1 alone 222, and it also has a stage.
