Mega Movies

Mega Movies is a multiplex in the Bleicher Ufer complex in Schwerin, opened on 5 October 1995. Its six screens are each decorated differently and hold about 1,000 people between them, with amphitheatre-style seating and 1.20 to 1.50 metres between rows. The Burmester cinema company ran it for ten years, and Thomas Otter took it over in 2005. In October 2008 Mega Movies became the first cinema in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to show digitally projected films. The last 35mm print in the regular programme ran on 5 September 2012. The screens can also be hired for company parties, conferences and private screenings.
