li.wu. Metropol is one of two screens run by the Rostock arthouse li.wu. (Lichtspieltheater Wundervoll), operated by the association Ro-cine e.V. The building at Barnstorfer Weg 4 opened as the Metropol cinema in 1910 and ran almost without interruption until 1993. After years of vacancy and other uses, li.wu. moved in and reopened it in 2012. The hall seats 160. It sits near Doberaner Platz in the city centre, where tram lines 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 stop. The programme is current releases and documentaries. Films that do not run in German are shown in the original version with subtitles, marked OmU.
