Inselkino im Kurtheater

The Inselkino plays in the historic Kurtheater on the northern side of the Kurplatz, in the centre of Norderney. Gustav Weidemann, owner of the Hotel "Deutsches Haus", began building it in 1893 as a private theatre modelled on the opera house in Hanover. The listed theatre has also served as a cinema since the 1920s and is run by Staatsbad Norderney GmbH. Beside current films there is family cinema and a choice of classics. A ticket costs 12 euros, and special events such as the Kultfilmnacht or the International Film Festival Emden-Norderney may be priced differently. The balcony only opens once enough tickets are sold.
