Liebfrauenstraße 58, 88250 Weingarten
The Linse on Liebfrauenstraße in Weingarten is an arthouse cinema, a bar-restaurant and a stage for concerts and talks, run by the non-profit association Kulturzentrum Linse e.V. The auditorium sits in the former rear building of a cigar factory. From 1913 a family ran it as the Welfentheater. The film series d'Linse started there in 1979, and the association was founded in 1987. Since 2000 a Kleiner Saal with 90 seats has stood alongside the Großer Saal with 150 seats. The programme leans on arthouse and regional productions, plus the Cinephilo series with talks after the film. Some films run in the original version with German subtitles.
